Lisa Edelstein was an American actress who is best known for her role as the main character of Fox's House medical drama. Born in Wayne in conservative Jewish traditions, she moved into New York City at the age of 18 to pursue studies in theater at Tisch School of the Arts. Then, in the course of time she began to be involved in the city's club scene and made enough noise that she was seen by the media and simultaneously, she became conscious of the devastating effects of AIDS. Eventually she used her training as well her fame to write and compose an original musical entitled Positive Me and was also in it. Then she was recruited by MTV to host Awake on the Wild Side. When it ended up going off the show, she started appearing in television and film productions at first in small roles before establishing herself as an actress.
